The Kerger Law firm has been serving Toledo and Northwestern Ohio since 1997. We are trial lawyers with over 60 years of combined experience in trying cases in state and federal courts in Ohio and Michigan.  Our practice focus is on Business Litigation, Employment Law, and White Collar Criminal Defenses. However,  we also help our clients with personal injury cases, professional malpractice, insurance coverage disputes, and a wide variety of general litigation matters. Over the years we have served a variety of clients to include  Presidential hopefuls, former Congressmen, Fortune 500 companies, local labor unions, and working people who need legal help.  We believe in serving the needs of our clients and their budgets while providing quality legal representation.

Richard M. Kerger was one of the founding partners of The Kerger Law Firm, LLC where he specializes in trials and appeals. Before that he was a partner in the firm of Marshall & Melhorn. He joined that firm in 1976 as a trial lawyer and came to head the firm's Litigation Department. He was selected as a fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, Litigation Counsel of America, International Society of Barristers and American Board of Trial Advocates.  He is a Senior Counsel in The College of Master Advocates and Barristers and was elected a Fellow in the American Board of Criminal Lawyers.  He was a member of the Board of Governors of the Ohio State Bar Association, having previously served as Chairman of its Federal Courts and Practice Committee.  He was a member of the Board of Trustees of the Toledo Bar Association and chaired both its Federal Courts and Grievance Committees.    He is recognized by Corporate Counsel as one its Top Lawyers in America.  He is listed in The Best Lawyers in America in Bet The Company Litigation, Commercial Litigation, Construction Litigation, Employment Litigation, White-Collar Criminal Defense and Non-White-Collar Criminal Litigation.   He is the author of the novel When You Practice to Deceive  and also the non-fiction The Art of Being a Trial Lawyer, The Client’s Guide to Litigation and a co-author of Commercial Litigation in Ohio.  He has also been selected as one of Ohio’s Super Lawyers by Cincinnati Magazine since 2004.  He lectures and writes on legal topics for a variety of organizations and publications.
